Things You Can and Can’t Put in Our Dumpsters
If you’re tossing everyday waste, chances are, AMS Dumpsters can take it utilizing a roll off container throughout SE Michigan businesses all the time. However, to avoid additional charges, it’s important to know what is not allowed in our dumpsters.

Accepted Items
- Cardboard and paper products
- Lumber
- Plaster sheetrock
- General construction debris
- Electronics
- Flooring and carpet
- Household junk
- Garage or attic junk
- Tree debris, yard refuse,
- leaves, etc.
Prohibited Items
- No explosives or hazardous waste
- No tires
- No batteries
- No liquid paints or solvents
- No chemicals or pesticides
- No dead animals
- No fuels, including gas cans or drums
- No refrigerators/freezers/AC units
- Do not fill the dumpster with rock, concrete or dirt as these materials are very heavy and will overload our equipment and will not be transported
Convenient Rental Terms
Service Area
AMS Waste Control covers the first 25 miles for delivery and pickup at our flat-rate price from Washtenaw County MI. If service is needed beyond this distance, call us for a quote.
Weight Capacity
All of our dumpsters include a certain amount of waste allowance in our flat-rate price. In order to keep our rates low, we ask that you do not overload the dumpster. If a dumpster has more tonnage than what is included in your reservation, we will bill you at $50/ton for each ton that you are over.
If you know you will be putting heavy material in the dumpsters, call for a custom quote.
Rental Periods
If you’d like to keep a dumpster beyond your scheduled pickup day, call to make sure that the additional days needed do not interfere with other customer’s reservations. If you decide to rent the container longer, each additional day is $50. If you are finished loading your dumpster before your scheduled pickup date, call and we will promptly reschedule your pickup.
Reservations and Payments
We make it very easy for you to reserve your dumpster. When you call, provide us with details about your project so we can help you with the appropriate size dumpster and the number of days you will need it.
- Once you agree to the terms, all that we require is your full name, delivery address and email address, and a method of payment.
- Once payment has been processed, that locks in your reservation.
Please Note:
- All rentals must be paid for prior to delivery to guarantee reservation
- Cancellations with more than 48 hours’ notice before the rental date will be charged a $50 cancellation fee
- Cancellations with less than a 48 hour notice will be charged a $125 cancellation fee
